OUR JOURNEY
Early Spark (Our Photography Origins)
Both of us discovered photography in high school — Michael through his father’s wedding photography and film club, Jennifer through yearbook. Different schools, same spark.
Building Foundations
We honed our skills in college and early careers. Michael photographed everything from experimental portraiture to weddings, even assisting with a professional studio in Grand Rapids. Jennifer dove deep into fine art studies, mastering composition and detail. We even took the same film photography class at GRCC — just a semester apart — yet still didn’t meet.
Coming Together
In 2010, Match.com brought us together (before it was an app!). We married in 2011, experiencing the joy and nerves of being on the other side of the camera. Our shared passion for weddings grew, blending Michael’s bold, energetic style with Jennifer’s calm, detail-focused artistry.
The Millers Photography
We officially launched our company in 2019 as March81 Photography, rebranding in 2024 to The Millers Photography. With over 40 years of combined experience, we’ve photographed hundreds of weddings from Michigan to destination celebrations worldwide. Beyond wedding days, we’re also educators and active contributors to the worldwide photography community — mentoring, teaching, and sharing our craft to inspire others. Today, we’re a husband-and-wife duo known for cinematic, true-to-life imagery, inclusive storytelling, and creating a wedding experience that feels as personal as it does beautiful
